Dear Rocky,
I hope you are finally getting better, but I have the feeling we won't have the chance to say good bye in person to each other, as I am already leaving DC on the 29th of November. I really enjoyed living at your house a lot and always felt home here. The people I lived together with became like a little family to me and therefor it is a little sad to leave so soon. But I look at the bright side of it: I had an amazing six month here and made so many new friends, that I will always luck happily back in that stay in Washington.
I wish you happy holidays and hope that you will get well soon!
All the best,
Nicolas
Thank you Thank you Thank you.
I lived there about 9 months while I worked on the Yucca Mountain Project for the Dept. of Energy. I too found the place via the Internet on Craigslist.
I found the house in a perfect location for me. I worked right across from the mall area, about 2.5 miles from the house. The subway is about 4 blocks from the house, easy access and the best way to get around town. Everything is color coded. Spend some time on this page, it will provide you tons of information on getting around DC http://www.wmata.com/ The house is close to China town (7 blks) where professional sports are played, where you can go to the movies and great food is located.
The house is really nice and Rocky is takes great care of the place. There are 2 bedrooms on the main level, 3 bedrooms on the 2nd level and 2 bedrooms on the 3rd level. Each level has a full bathroom. I never found a problems having to share the bathroom. Usually it is all about timing in the morning and being considerate of the others in the house. There is a full kitchen on the main floor and a commons area. When I was there Rocky provided Internet for the house. In the basement Rocky provides a washer and dryer for you to use, you just need to provide your own laundry soap. You will need to provide your own sheets and bath towels. You will be provided a key to the house and you will have a security code for your bedroom door. Every room has a fire alarm in it. Rocky also has a cleaning service come in and clean the house.
I felt the neighborhood was very safe. There is 2 grocery stores about 6 blocks in two directions from the house. Rocky has a strict policy about NO liquor and NO smoking in the house. It is easy to hail a cab in the city. You either walk out to the street and flag one down or walk to the nearest hotel and they will get you one.
One of my favorite parts about living in the house was that I met so many nice people. Often we went to dinner or the movies together . I still stay in touch with 3 of them on a regular bases.
Normally Rocky is bubbly and very helpful but has been not feeling well for a while. He is easy to work with and very helpful for providing information about the city.
I personally would not hesitate living there again if I ever am called back to work in DC.
If there is anything else I can give you information about, the house, the city, or things to do, please don't hesitate to drop me a note.
Good luck and really enjoy DC. 9 months was not enough time for me to see everything I wanted to see and do.

HI. I left the keys on the living room table (sonny locked the door for me).

Hi Rocky!
This is Adam Finn, I stayed at 1107 Mass. Ave last summer. I really enjoyed my stay and thought you were a great landlord. I just accepted a job with the company where I interned last summer, so I'll be moving to DC over the summer. I was wondering if you could give me some advice about real estate in DC, renting vs. buying, different areas, the real estate market in general. I know you are knowledgeable about these things as it is your profession and I would trust your advice. If you have some time to talk on the phone, or send an email I would appreciate it. Also, I am hoping to make a trip to DC in the near future to visit a few condos in the area, so perhaps I could buy some lunch and we could discuss?
Thanks for everything,
Adam
